NFC Tag Demo on Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7

If you have purchased a new device, which NFC tags that work with it may vary. On the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II, you can use pretty much any tag on the market that is read/write capable. The most common tag of the time was the Mifare Classic which I demo here. The Samsung TechTiles are also Mifare Classic tiles. However, if you have purchased a New Nexus 7, Nexus 4 or Nexus 10, the NFC Chip has been changed and no longer reads Mifare Classic tags. You can still use NFC Tags, you will just need to purchase a different tag. The most common universal tag is the NTAG203 which holds 137 bytes… far less than the Mifare Classic 1k (1000 bytes) and cost a lot more per byte. Also available are the Topaz 512 tags.

This is merely and FYI, if you will be using NFC tags, make sure you purchase the right ones for you.
