This video shows a serialized pharmaceutical packaging line with round bottles. The bottle first get applied with a label on which a unique serial number in encoded (in a 2D bar code and in an RFID inlay) The round bottles are then bundled in a plastic wrap.
Then, using a robotic arm (that could be replaced by hugging belts or a gap between two conveyors), the Optel Vision inspection system determines the identity of each bottle within the bundle. An RFID tunnel also verifies that the aggregation information (parent to children relationship) corresponds to what the camera have inspected.
Finally, the system supports manual packaging steps such as putting the bundles in a case (they all have their unique serial number and the system tracks and records their parent to chilidren relationship).
