Shooting the Finished Bow – http://youtu.be/kFaSKzw23H0
Here’s the arrow rest and a simple paracord handle wrap to finish the snakey recurve.
Today we’ll be building a snakey recurve like the one I showed you guys in my other video, Shooting a Centershot PVC Pipe Bow – The Snakey Recurve (http://youtu.be/yMAfOGgOuBk).
This bow, which follows the instructions in my new book, is a centershot bow. That means that the arrow is held along the center of the bow when shot. This lowers the effect of archer’s paradox as the arrow doesn’t need to bend around the bow and recover. This lets you use a range of arrows accurately, more so than if you were shooting around a handle.
The bow itself is fairly simple, just a larger version of the youth recurve in 1 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe. This bow is made with 58 inches of pipe, though it can be scaled down or up to fit your draw length. Add or take away an inch of pipe for every inch of draw. So for a 26 inch draw, start with a 56 inch pipe. For a 30 inch draw, start with a 60 inch pipe. The bow will be around 45-55 pounds of draw at 28 inches and can be made lighter by making it longer, heavier by making it shorter.
Thanks for watching and enjoy!
